Card-Not-Present
Card-not-present (CNP) transactions are payment transactions where the physical payment card is not available for inspection at the time of purchase, typically occurring through online, telephone, or other digital channels. These payments rely on customers manually providing card details, making them more susceptible to fraud and resulting in higher processing fees.
To mitigate risks, CNP transactions require additional security measures such as address verification systems and 3D Secure authentication.
