DTMF Masking

DTMF masking (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency masking) is a security technology that prevents payment card details entered via telephone keypad from being captured, recorded, or accessed by contact center agents or systems. When customers enter their card numbers using their phone keypad, DTMF masking suppresses the tones before they reach recording systems or agent headsets, replacing them with flat tones or silence. This technique enables secure phone payments while maintaining compliance by ensuring cardholder data never enters the contact center environment.
