January 24th saw our EMEA team attend PCI London 2019 where we were delighted to be recognised at the PCI Awards in Excellence for the second consecutive year.
PCI Pal attends PCI London bi-annually, the key event in the PCI DSS and data security calendar, which looks at the latest developments in PCI DSS through strategic talks, case study presentations and break-out sessions to explore ways to leverage the change as well as recent hacks in order to improve security and privacy.
This years’ theme was ‘The challenge of compliance in an era of constant change’.
The event reinforced something that we already knew through our own research findings, that consumers are more conscious than ever about protecting their data – a likely result of recent high-profile data breaches. A recent survey carried out by PCI Pal on 2,002 UK consumers showed that 56% are uncomfortable sharing sensitive data such as credit card details over the phone and 41% would stop spending with a brand forever following a data breach. Consumer concern is now a huge driving force for why and how companies protect sensitive information processed.
Each year we participate in the day’s education seminars. This time Phil Jude, PCI PAL’s Strategic Partnership Manager, presented ‘The Compliance Challenge’ a case study that proved popular with delegates on our work with global business process outsourcer, DDC (OS) UK. It detailed how we supported the company in becoming 100% PCI DSS compliant with no negative impact on the customer journey and improved the customer experience using our Agent Assist solution.
Last year PCI Pal Sales Director EMEA, Tony Smith, presented a case study surrounding our work with leading leisure operator and experiential entertainment company, iFly, which picked us up an award at this year’s PCI Awards in Excellence, designed to acknowledge real-world examples of excellence in payment security and PCI DSS compliance.
Recognising our role in helping organisations across the globe meet the challenges of PCI DSS compliance, this was our second consecutive win. Last year we were awarded for supporting global retailer, All Saints, to improve payment card security and achieve PCI DSS compliance.
The team were thrilled to once again stand out and demonstrate we are able to continue to evidence meeting our client’s brief, flexibility of deployment and deliver strong after-sales support of an exceptional solution.
